Motion Settings Storage Location

I am attempting to run a motion control program that has worked before.  I am getting a drive over current fault.  It is acting like the motor is not tuned properly.  The only way I could get the motor to run properly is to re-import backed up motion settings.  The machine ran for several days after doing this.  The drive then faulted again.  After trying to re adjust the tuning on the Motion Card, the drive still would not run properly.  I then re- imported the motion settings.  The motor then started working again.  I would like to know where the motion settings are stored after being imported and set as the current settings.

Hi Scott,

The motion settings are stored in onboard memory on the Motion card.  When you hit the initialize button in MAX the settings get uploaded to the card.  Do the motion settings reset themselves in MAX when you look at them?  Which hardware are you using?  Also, is your motion program written in LabVIEW?  If so, you can use the initialize controller VI in your program.  This VI uploads configuration settings every time it is called.

I am using LabView.  I do use the initialize vi in my code.  It seems like the iak file was corrupted some how.  The settings looked correct.  I had to delete the settings, and re-import them from a backed up location.  The machine has now been running for 24 hrs since the last time I reloaded the settings.  It ran for a day and a half the last time I tried this.  Hopefully it was just a fluke and I missed a step the first time.
