Motors move with P7000 but not with MAX

Zach,

Unfortunately I can't use the other line, it is in 24/7 automated operation and I can't stop it during someone else's run.

Is there another way to test connections?

Hello,

Have you also verified that the Limit LED, Fault, and Enable switches have been configured identically to the other one that is working for you? Can you check the output of the Enable pin (pin 6) to see if that changes when toggling between kill/halt?

Hi Zach,

I believe everything is wired the same as on the other (working) set-up, I copied all the wiring from there, but I no longer have access to that set-up and can't double-check.

The limit and home LEDs respond on the UMI, when I hit a switch the light goes off. How do I check the output of the enable pin? And is that the enable pin on the UMI or the P70360?

Hi mishka,

Zach is referring to Pin 6 on the UMI. If the Enable output is deactivated, the DISABLED LED should light up. You can configure the Enable output to be either active-low(down position) or active-high(up position) using the Enable switch. Can you verify that the Enable switch is functioning correcting?

Hi Andy,

The switches are currently set at: FAULT active low, ENABLE active high, LIMIT active high.

If I change enable to active low, the lights stay orange and the disable LED does not come on.

If I change Limit to active low all the lights go out.

If I chage fault to active high the disable and fault LEDs come on.

Hi mishka,

Here's at least some expectations:  the motor should not moved when the disabled light is on.  The disabled light should come on when a fault occurs.

Also you may want to take a look at this DeveloperZone.  The article is for the 7764, but the concepts for limits, faults, enable/disable should be the same.

Here are a couple other related documents as well:

I hope this helps!
