NI Motion card not listed in MAX

My Motion control card is not listed in MAX.

I have installed it as per the instructions - software first and hardware after that. The version of NI software I am using is 6.9.3.

I have tried going to Control Panel->System->Other Devices where the Motion Control card came up as a PCI device. I attempted to update the driver, but the OS couldn't find a driver even on the NI CD.

I atttempted to download the latest version of your Motion Control driver, but It think your FTP server must not be working.

I am running a fresh installation of WinXP SP2.

If you coulod make some suggestions on how to procees I would appreciate it.

Cheers.

Which card are you using?

The FTP problem may not be at NI. Some firewalls block FTP sites. I had to ask our IT department to disable that.

There is no NI-Motion 6.9.3. It looks like you have only installed NI-DAQ but this driver supports only data acquisiton devices but no motion controllers. You will need to download and install NI-Motion (latest version is 7.0). I have just tried downloading the driver and it works fine. If there is a problem with the download please contact your network administrator.

Thanks guys,

That's all sorted now. It was the driver. I had installed the NI-DAQ software thinking it was the NI Motion driver.

Thanks for your help. The FTP problem was here as well - our firewall was blocking it.

Cheers.
