Did you mean:

NI pci 6251 position control

the Problem is that (channel A=PFI8) is incrementing both direction always incrementing

and channel B= PFI10 is always 0 .

About testing the the output of the Encoder I tried to test the 4 output od the encoder ( 4 wires orange, red, yellow and black) but i dont konw what is the relation between these wires and channel A, B??

Any datasheet to look at ?

Thanx alot for your help

If you don't know what the wires do, then how did you wire them to the DAQ card?  Most encoders will have 8 wires.  2 for power(Vcc and Gnd), A, A/,B,B/, Z,Z/.  To wire to a DAQ card, do not connect A/,B/, and Z/ to anything.  You need to find a datasheet for the encoder or motor.

The DC motor already wired by Quanser using NI ELVIS ...so i didnt do any wiring !!!

on the board there are 2 encoder reader Enc0 and Enc1 and by default the encoder is connected to Enc0

and there is only 4 wires coming out of the encoder!!

Hi,

I used the "quadratureencoderm-series.vi" to test the encoder and i found that PFI 10 is always 0 however the encoder outputs are not.

that means that  PFI 10 is not connected to the right pin !!!

Anyone knows how to change the connection of the pin  I know that for M-series and the board that i'm using the PFI 10 should be connected to pin 45 and PFI 8 to pin 37 !

But how to make sure and check the connection ?

Thanx
