PCI 7330 not recognized in Windows 7

Solved!
Go to solution

When I transferred my 7330 motion controller board to another PC, it is not recognized in MAX. Windows system put it as unknown PCI board.

The PC runs on Windows 7. LabVIEW 2010 and MAX 4.7 were installed. What could be the reason for the 7330 not being recognized?

Thanks.

Are the windows driver for the board installed? If not neither windows or MAX will be able to see the board.

When I installed LabVIEW, it asked to install all device drivers. Is the 7330 driver not included there? The other PC recognized fine after installation. I don't really see any difference between the two PCs. So confusing. That's why I posted here to see if anybody else had similar issue.

I reinstalled the Device Drivers, especially installed all the support like LV 2009, 2010, 8.6, etc. Now the board is recognized.

Should have done that before posting here. But thanks for the reply.

The NI-Motion driver software is not included in the standard set of drivers that get installed. To ensure that the NI-Motion software is installed when installing from the Device Driver DVD, click the "Motion" category and choose to install NI-Motion.

When I transferred my PCI-7344 motion controller board to another PC, it is  recognized "PXI4200"in MAX. WindowsXP system put it as unknown PXI-4200 board.

The PC runs on Windows XP、NI-Motion 6.1 (NIMotion7.7)and NI-DAQ 7.1 were installed. What could be the reason for the 7340 not being recognized?it is  recognized "PX090901.jpgI4200"!!

Thanks for the reply!未命名.jpg

Hi ptmled,

If the card is incorrectly identified as an obsolete DAQ device, it sounds very likely that there is a problem with the NI-Motion drivers, or possibly the DAQmx or Traditional NI-DAQ drivers. I would recommend performing a repair of the drivers. For information on how to perform this process take a look at the knowledge base article on repairing National Instruments software. It is very likely that the reason this card is being misidentified is driver problem.
