Read analog while doing an open loop stepper move

I am useing the stepper to drive a slide to measure the displacement with a laser  and force with a strain tranducer. I need to know the force displacement curve of valves we manufacture. The motoin software generates an error saying you cann't read analog while moving the stepper.

Please provide some more information:
  1. Which type of motion controller are you using?
  2. What's the driver version for the controller?
  3. Which development environment are you using?
Thanks,

I have a Windows 2000 NT operating system with a NI 7334 board. It is configured as an open loop control with CW/CCW pulses. The motor is a Oriental Motors 5 phase stepper with a VEXTA  RK Series driver. The board runs motion and Analog reading seperatly but not at the same time. The application requires the reading of the analog input while moveing the stepper driven slide. The data doesn't need to be corrilated to the stepper position. The relationship of the Laser and Force transducers are what we want. The stepper is just a means of cycling thur a loop.

I have tested this with the same hardware and it's working properly on my system. I can move my stepper motor while reading analog data from the analog inputs. I'm using NI-Motion 7.0. Please update your driver if you are using an older version.
If the error doesn't disappear please tell me the exact error number and message that you get.

Thanks,

It was a stupid error. I had measurement & Motion running in backgound. I have it working Fine now. I still have a learning curve to go through on the motion board. That just takes time.

Thanks for your responce
