Regarding Home input connection in PCI-7344

Hi,

I am using NI, PCI-7344 with UMI-7774. I need to connect the home input to the UMI7774. I have a connected a NO push button to test the find reference function of PCI-7344. I have connected the + and - of a 24V supply to the V and C terminals of the UMI-7774. Also I have connected one end of the push button to the 24V supply and the other end to the home input in the feedback connector of Axis4. I have connected the encoder f/b also. I have given the analog command to the servo drive from the command output i.e. +/-10V DC. Now, I have written a simple VI which has a find reference function. Now the motor starts to rotate. When I press the push button, no change occurs and the motor keep rotating in the same direction at the same speed. Even after releasing the push button, no change occurs. I feel that somehow, the controller is not receiving the home command. Does the home input have a seperate ground or is the ground for home is same a C terminal of UMI-7774? I have attached the image file showing my connections. Please tell me the correct connections for home.

Mr.Manish,

You are almost there, just connect the ground of the 24V power supply to ISO Common of Axis4. Also please let me know about the MAX settings that you have configured. Are you using the home input as active high or low. What abt. the settings in the Find Reference Tab in MAX, initial search direction, final approach direction and edge to stop on?
