Servo motor control with the 7344 and LabVIEW using torque cell data as the primary feedback (details are encouraged).

This application requires the motor to follow a predefined torque vs. position profile. The torque feedback comes from an external torque cell. The object being controlled by the servo moves on its own with the servo just aiding or resisting the motion and thereby applying a specific torque.

I would greatly appreciate some specific details. Thank You!

As long as your troque cell returns voltages between the ranges of +-10v, 0-10v, +-5v , or 0-5v, then you should be able to use the analog input channel on the 7344 for that particular axis and connect it to the torque cell. Then set the feedback settings for tne axis you are using on the 7344 to be analog feedback instead of encoder (the default) thus effectively closing the position control loop on the 7344. You can change the feedback setting on the axis inside the Measurement and Automation Explorer->Devices and Interfaces->7344->Axis Configuration.
