Stepper Motor Control with PCI7332

Hi,

I want to control two stepper motors using PCI7332 motor controller with connector block UMI7772 and LabView. I found many example codes in the example library of LabView but I couldn`t be sure if I could use these for stepper motors. Can I use the examples such as the ones like One-Axis moves under the Linear Motion folder? If not, are there any examples for the control of stepper motors? Thank you in advance.

To be more precise, I need to let two step motors make repetitive motions on two different axes (Go to a positon, come back to home position, repeat). Is it possible to do with the example codes in LabView? Also, I thought I could use MAX for this function as well but I`m not sure how I can automate this type of motion with it? I will appreciate any help in both ascpects. Thank you.

Hi AsperAstrum,

all NI-Motion examples in LabVIEW work for stepper motors. MAX is just a configuration utility and you can use it to configure and test your motion control setup, but it's not meant to be used to run a complete application.

The LabVIEW examples demonstrate most of the NI-Motion functionality, but I don't think, that you will find an example that exactly meets your application's requirements. So you will have to do some programming by your own. Your application doesn't seem to be very complex, so with some basic knowledge of LabVIEW programming you should be able to get the result you are looking for.

Kind regards,
