Why does windows installer keep on trying to install FlexMotion ?

I'm trying to install FlexMotion 5.1.1 onto a Windows 2000 system which does not have the motion control card installed (I just want access to the vi's while I develop on this faster machine before running the code and debugging on the slower target machine). The installation claims to work ok, but every time I try to log in as an ordinary user, or start Internet Explorer or an Office application, the Windows Installer kicks in and tries to install FlexMotion.

You could try two things:
1) Do a reinstall of FlexMotion 5.1.1 and make sure that you are administator when you do this. It sounds like something happened in th eprevious install to cause this problem.
2) If you only need the VI's for FlexMotion you could just copy the FlexMotion folder in vi.lib folder from one machine to the other. You want be able to use the VI's, but I guess you weren't planning on it anyway from this machine. Another folders you might consider copying is the help folder for FlexMotion and maybe the FlexMotion32.dll if you don't want your VI's to be broken on the development machine.

1) Doesn't work - I had actually done the installation as Administrator (I know it wasn't clear from the question). I'd also done it as my user account bumped to Administrators group.
2) Does work just fine. Now why the **** didn't I figure that out myself - talk about not seeing the trees for the wood 😉 !
