baldor connection to umi-7772

I am trying to connect a Baldor BSM90B-3250AA to a UMI-7772. I cant find anything to help with the pin connections from the 68 pin cable to the 9, 15 and 25 pin connections on the UMI-7772. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You are missing a key component.  You have a motion controller, an interface to the motion controller, and a servo motor.  You still need a drive(amplifier).  Baldor makes the Flex drives to go with your motor.

I have the flex drives. This is an upgrade job from a very old PLC setup. I didnt think I needed the flex drives since Labview had a PCI card. I will still need help wiring it up if anyone has any suggestions.

Thanks

is there a driver for this flex drive? Also does anyone have a wiring diagram to go from the UMI-7772 to the
Baldor Flex Drive?

The real Macgyver wouldn't ask these kinds of questions!

You can run the Flex drive in analog torque, analog velocity, or step and direction modes.  If you have a motion controller, then I would recommend using analog torque mode.  Here are some generic instructions, since I am not an NI motion expert.  You will need to connect the simulated encoder output of the drive to the encoder input of the UMI.  You will not need to connect the encoder power lines of the UMI.  You will need to connect the analog reference output of the UMI to the analog input of the Flex.  The only other connections you really need are amp enable and amp fault.  If I recall, you can set up a relay output on the Flex for the amp fault, but I think the amp enable signal is 24VDC.  I am not sure what signal levels the UMI uses.  Please read through tutorials on motion controls, and the manuals for your products, and get back to us with some specific questions.

Well the problem is that I have too much to work with. If I had a stick of gum, a birthday card, and a battery charger then I would be fine. :smileyvery-happy:Thanks for the help
