how would i power a 12V dc motor to give a variable torque output using a daq?

Hi,

i need to control the torque of a dc motor. I have to use a daq's output voltage to do this. However the motor i have to use is a 12V motor so i have to amplify the signal using a voltage controlled current amplifier. However being relatively new to this i have no idea whether this is the best method to use or even how to do it. any advise would be appreciated.

Can the manufacturer of the motor advise you as to what an appropriate drive amplifier would be that accepts a voltage input?

Without any pertinent technical information on your motor, I do not know what to advise.
