Did you mean:

save the animation as a .avi

It's there any possible  way to save the simulation made with labview-softmotion and solidworks as a .avi to use it for a presentation? I try with animation wizard ( and I select: import motion from motion analysis )  but when I save the animation as a .avi, the simulation starts again and my initial animation (obtained with labview) disappear. Another method i tried, was with a screen recorder but the quality of the movie it's not so god.  video is jerky.

Thanks

Hi Adi,

Can you clarify a little bit about the layout of your code please? If the animation is restarting and overwriting the initial animation, is it perhaps occurring within a loop in the program and causing it to repeatedly execute?

Also, in regard to using screen recording software, some programs may have an option to select frame rate. If this is possible, increasing the frame rate should eliminate this jerkiness.

Thanks,

Maybe ít's not relevant, but we've had once a problem with jerky movies, and the solution was simple: saving (and reading) it to local hard drive rather than to the network, although our network is normally not so slow.

Thaks for your replay.

I made a movie where you can see what happens if you have 6 free minutes, with a part of my simulation.

in the first part of movie I start the simulation with labview, then I stop simulation and I play the simulation again from solidworks - everything works fine. Afterwards, to continue, I import motion from motion analysis..... Replay the motion and everything is OK.then I click to save the animation, and animation made with labview disappears and starts a new one from solidworks.I also try to suppress axes before saving the animation but it's the same->initial simulation erase and in this case- nothing moves

here's the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rtM8kpsxIAg

thanks

Hi Adi,

Your video is a bit difficult to follow. Could you clarify a few things to help me understand the problem? When you say the animation made with LabVIEW disappears what do you mean? Is it saved to a file that is now overwritten or deleted or is the LabVIEW program that was running the simulation closed?

If you could describe what specific behavior you are expecting and clarify those questions it will be very helpful in determining what is going wrong.

Thanks!

Adi, did you solved your problem meanwhile?

I have same problem with you saving animation with motion analysis.

After the simulatoin with soft motion is done, when I click 'play' in animation tab in solidworks, It plays well.

And you can see that there are yellow line on the time line which represents the motion of each links.

But after I click 'save animation' the yellow line on time line disappear and the joints doesn't work.

Because of that, I cannot save device working animation..

Have you actually tried to run a SolidWorks application without SoftMotion? Do you still have this animation-saving issue? If that's the case, this might be a SolidWorks issue instead of a SoftMotion issue. In any case, you might be able to find some screen-capturing software to capture the animation when you hit play.

I'm glad to hear you were able to record the video. This is probably the best way to go. Good luck with your application! 🙂
