some questions about UMI-7764

I have a PCI-7344 and an UMI-7764, I want to buy the third stepping motor driver,but I don not know the third stepping motor driver whether or not match the UMI-7764! The UMI-7764 have some demands on the stepping motor driver?

2 phase or 3 phase is both available?

I know some information about  the oonnection about the UMI-7764 and the third party motor driver.

But I want to know 2 phase or 3 phase stepping motor driver both match the UMI-7764?

As you probably know a stepper motor is not connected directly to the UMI7764 but always needs a driver which is controlled by the signals from UMI7764.

So it does not matter too much whether your driver/amplifier stage drives a 2-phase, 3-phase or even 5-phase motor, as long as the driver/amplifier will accept STEP and DIR signals (with TTL level) or CW/CCW signals.

All you have to do is to connect the control signal lines of the driver/amplifier stage to the terminals of the UMI7764 properly and make your software setup according to the control signals needed by the driver stage.
