200361 error on USB 6008 with Labview 2012

Hi I was wondering if anyone can help me with a program I'm trying to write

what I need to do is take the signal generated from a rotary sensor (a Gill 360 Blade sensor) and use it to trigger a linear sensor (a Gill blade 25 Position transducer)  to take a reading of the displacement at the rotary sensors' particular voltage intervals. After all that I want it to log all the info in excel.

So far I've been working with the first 3 videos of the link below to try and work it out (bear in mind- I have no previous experience with LabVIEW, this is for a small part of a Uni group project which I have never been taught how to use)

http://www.ni.com/gettingstarted/beginapplication.htm

Can anyone tell me where I'm going wrong since I can run the taking a measurement VI only once before error 200361 appears (even though only LabVIEW is on) and I cannot get any further.

Many Thanks

Tory

Hi Tory,

Thank you for your post and welcome to the NI forums.

Error -200361 is not uncommon to find in USB devices and there is a fair amount of documentation regarding the error to be found on our website. Searching the error code and device name from ni.com should give you some useful information.

I found this KB which outlines the problem and why it occurs/possible solutions here that you will find useful.

Just to check, though, are you acquiring one sample on demand or are you acquiring continuously? If the issue is occurring when trying to acquire one sample on demand it seems that you will need to reinstall the device on your computer. See 'Less common cause' in the KB I referenced above.

Let me know if you have any further questions.
