6015 DAQ-Pad generates USB malfunction during measurement

I've got a really annoying problem with a Quadcore platform.

I have a DAQ-Pad 6015BNC -USB device which is connected to a DELL Precission T3400 system with Windows XP,
I use NI-mx driver to operate my device from a 3rd party measurement software.

First i installed 830mx driver and during measurement i got after a short while an USB device malfunction systray infobox from XP which says
it cannot recognize my USB device and there must be some kind of malfunction.

This so called "malfunction" makes my USB roothub (on the mainboard) beeing deactivated until i restart the whole system.
It does not depend on the USB port, i tried all 8 external ports, everywhere same story...

I tried the same USB DAQ device on a differend system (Core2Duo platform differend ventor) and had no single problem
with driver version 830mx.

I read some thing about "Multicore support problem" in driver 850mx but only for AMD platforms, however i tried 871mx to make
sure this problem does not affect my Quadcore system. but something in mx driver does affect my system and makes it unstable and therefore unusable

I tried the commonly know XP kernelswitch /NUMPROC=1 to fix the issue temporary, but this is no bugfix, because the Quadcore system will be used for
multicore calculations therefore i need all cores activated with DAQ Pad running

Does anybody know how to fix this issue?

Hello!

Does the error appears only using one specific measurement program or does it appears also when doing a simple measurement from a DAQmx example (f.e. a finite AI acquisition)?

Best regards

Hello kenT!

It seems to be something regarding the mx based driver in combination with USB devices, it also happens in measurement and automation explorer with a simple continuous measurement task
it takes about 3 - 5 minutes until the above described behavior happens.

in the meantime i tried for comparison an 6259 M-series PCI card, but this card works either fine in "measurement and automation explorer" and my 3rd party software

so i guess it could be the driver incompatible with INTEL Quadcore on DELL specific mainboard, or there is something special with those onboard USB root hubs (chipset failure?)

Hello!

We tested on a Dell Precision T3400 with a DAQPad-6015 and it worked fine. No malfunction errors after 5 or more minutes.
It could be a bios or usb driver problem on your PC.

Try to install the newest version of the bios and of the driver from here:

Hello!

Thank you very much for checking this issue!

I'm afraid i can't test again with different BIOS at the moment because
i had to return the T3400 testing system back to Dell yesterday afternoon.
But i will buy one equivalent system in the next few weeks and investigate this issue again.

Thank you very much for your help!
