6281 analog outputs

Hi:

Hi:

I want to produce a simple analog voltage outpot on a with a pxi-6281 card (pxi). I'm using a 50pin cable at the 1349

connector on the scxi chassis. I'm using pins 20 & 21 and the ground is 23 (I hope this is correct). All of this is done

with SignalExpress.

I'm sending a 1Hz signal (-1 to 1 Volt). I can't see anything with the oscilloscope.

I can't find what I'm doing wrong. The only thing that I see as a problem, when I am doing signal inputs (1314 to a 1520),

normally I "activate" the channel on the proper card (the proper 1520). In this case there is no activate for the outputs, all

the channels (for the 6281) available are inputs.

Any ideas?

Have you tried a DC output voltage with MAX. That way you can check the pins with a multimeter so you know if the hardware is ok.

According to this, your pinouts look correct.  Trying Felix's suggestion is worth a try, maybe disconnecting the 1349 from the SCXI chassis and trying the measurement may be helpful.  Or, if you have a breakout box (CB-68) you can hook up directly and bypass the SCXI hardware.  Here is the pinout for the 6281 if you choose to use this.
