strader,

CEntos is not a version of Linux officially supported (see this KB: http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/4857A755082E9E228625778900709661?OpenDocument).  Have you successfully used this device on another distribution?

I know that it is not officialy supported, but it is de-facto a Read Hat clone.

Previously, I have installed Centos on another mashine and it worked well with and old PCI MIO 16 card (6601 is not shown on that machine either).

I am wondering at what point the 6601 card recognition fails. The card itself is reckognized in the Windows, so it should not be a hardware issue.

strader,

What version of the DAQmx base driver are you using?

Check out this forum post, it seems to be a similar issue that was resolved using DAQmx base and lsdaq:

This is the continuation of the same proble.

We have installed REd Hat 32 bit on this computer:

Red Hat Enterprise Linux Workstation release 6.4 (Santiago)

Labview  was installed without problem.

The Nidaq version is 8.0.2.f0 + drivers updated using updateNIDrivers.

card is listed:

04:01.0 Unassigned class [ff00]: National Instruments PCI-6601 (rev 01)
    Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 32, IRQ 17
    Memory at f7102000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=4K]
    Memory at f7100000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=8K]
    Kernel driver in use: nidaqmx_nidaq2

However, nilsdev still see nothing  and nidaqmxconfig does not return anything except:

[DAQmx]
MajorVersion = 8
MinorVersion = 0

this is now supported Linux version. Still, I cannot communicate with the PCI-6601.

Hi,

Does lsdaq return anything?

if you mean Base then  no, and  6601 is not supported  by Base.
