AO and AOGND are connected

I'm using a PCIe-7851R card , my problem is that all of the AO and AOGND are connected (test with the beep gear of the multimeter, when AO=0V).

when outputting a specific voltage(ie:AO0=1V), the output voltage  is correct , but the voltage between AO0 and AOi are also 1V.

And the same problem came to myrio 1900.

is this normal? Or there is something wrong with my card or LabVIEW settings?

Just to ensure you understand the potential difference basics of EE, if the potential difference between two points is 0, it can be "interpreted" as connected but may not actually.

For instance, when you're not generating anything on AO, it will be at 0V and so does the AOGND, when you do a continuity measurement since they use common ground and the potential is 0V, it would appear connected or shorted. As soon as you generate 1V, it will not appear connected in the continuity test mode.

I assume the beep and diode check is the same function like on all of my DMMs 😉

in my DMMs for these function(s) a current (100µA) is applied and the resulting voltage is displayed. For a voltage below a certain value a beep is emitted.

Read the manual and spec of your DMM , AND of your other harware too 😄

The AO set to 0 V  is a virtual shortcut (within the current range of the AO 😉 )

Find the answers to

How are the various xxGND pins related?

How is the voltage created at the AOx pins?

Where is the current flowing?
