Can I connect RTD directly to my 6040E Card ?

Hi..

Im doing a Heater Control system project need to interface my RTD to my  NI 6040E card or should i use a wheatstone bridge to do to convert it to Voltage and then only connect my NI card to it ..

Hi Barath,

Thanks for posting on the NI Discussion Forums!  You can take RTD measurements with your 6040E, however you need to provide your own external excitation.  In Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX), you can create an RTD task by right-clicking Data Neighborhood and selecting Create Task.  Take a look at the image below.

You will choose your device, and then configure the task in the window below.

ThankYou i knew you should use the max window and setup RTD just wanted to be sure..
