Hi
I am considering purchasing a NI ENET-9205 this is a 32 channel analog input C-series module in a single device E-Net carrier. This device is listed at a 250K sample rate. I need to sample 22 channels and would like to collect about 5-10 seconds data at 5K samples per channel. I have a dedicated (closed) 100 Mbits/s network with only 1 computer. Has anyone had success with this unit for this type of channel count and sampling? The PC is full, so I do not have the option of a PCI or PCIe card. I know that I can get the same module with a USB interface. Does anyone have a reason (or actual experience), that I should lean one way or the other? The E-Net will work better with the rest of my test set configuration but I could make the USB work.
Thanks

Hi Rod,
Speaking from a personal level, the USB version is easier to use because there is next to no setup required. The ENET 9205 requires a little bit of setup, but it is reliable. If you are planning to use the device on a network, then definitely go with the ENET version. You really shouldn't have any problems with acquiring samples or sending them to the PC as your rates are within spec, so from that standpoint either would work.

Hi Rod,
I took another look, and in order to use the 9205 with USB connectivity, you would need a compactDAQ chassis. There is no support for the 9205 in the 9162. Refer to this compatibility article for further details.
