I have got a new cDaq device today and connected it to pc.
It appears in MAX as cDAQ4 as I already had 3 more before all shipped to a customers.
The question is how can I delete old ones on MAX.
If I choose to delete it either by right click or delete button on a MAX panel it asks me if I wish to delete it but nothing happened after that.
I could delete devices in a chassis by this manner but not the chassis itself.
I have tried to restart MAX after that and the devoces are still there. Did not try to restart PC yet but do not think it would help.
What is the solution of this problem.

Hi Sergey,
Has this ever happened to you before? Which version of MAX, DAQmx and which OS are you using? If it's Windows XP, have you recently installed a Service Pack? Here are some steps to try:
1) Open Task Manager and ensure that there are no LabVIEW applications or VI running, i.e. ensuring nothing attempting to communicate with the device (although you would have your cDAQ unplugged from your PC anyway)
2) Go to Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel, down to National Instruments Software, click Change, select the DAQmx driver, and click Repair.
3) Then try to delete the cDAQ, it may work.
Alternatively, it could be a corrupted MAX database, in which case you can follow the steps in the following KB which will guide you through creating a new MAX database: How Do I Clean Corrupted MAX Database and Start With a New One?
Please let me know if either of these helps to solve the problem.

Thanks.
method No1 did not work but the method No 2 does.
I do not know if I will again have problem in a future with several devices like this. We will see.
Thanks.
By the way I was using DAQmx 9.0.1 and tried 9.0.2 with the same results.
WinXP with all released SP, Labview 8.6.1
