Hi Tony,
In your post you said that you have a DAQCard-700 and you are trying to load the 6.9.3 DAQ Drivers and get the card to work in your laptop.
You are using the right version of the drivers by using Traditional NI-DAQ (Legacy) Version 6.9.3 for Windows 2000/95/98/ME/NT/XP.
There is a possible workaround, but it requires editing your registry. Keep in mind that going into the registry can definitely hurt your machine if anything is done improperly. But since you are faced with the problem, you can try this at your own risk:
Title: Windows Repeatedly Detects Hardware and Fails to Install the Driver |
Problem: I am trying to install National Instruments hardware in Windows. Windows detects and finds my hardware, but when it is installing the driver I receive an error message indicating that Windows "Cannot Install this Hardware...The system cannot find the file specified." I've tried reinstalling my driver software, but Windows still detects my hardware each time I start my computer, and the installation always fails. How can I get my hardware to install properly? Sample error message: |

Hi Otis,
sorry, but your file doesn`t work. No value will be inserted in the key in the registry you mentioned above. (even after reboot)
When I read your reg-file with an text editor, there is no value written in it. Just the Version of the registry-editor an the key (or path).
May be you send me the value of the registry-key RunOnce and I can change it manually.

Hi R.S.,
Your case differs slightly than the original post. They had already tried using an older version of DAQ and were unable to recognize the device. In your case it sounds like the device wasn't recognized because you had a version of the drivers that no longer supported (recognized) the DAQCard-700.
Since you are using LabVIEW 7.1 and you need to use the 6.9.3 driver like this thread indicates I did a search on ni.com for "labview 7.1 6.9.3" and found this as the second link:
How can I make NI-DAQ 6.9.3 work with LabVIEW 7.1?
This KnowledgeBase gives you all the information that you need to import the DAQ calls into LabVIEW 7.1 so that you can begin programming. You should not need to worry about the steps mentioned earlier in this thread. Just uninstall your current version of NI-DAQ, reboot, install NI-DAQ 6.9.3, reboot, and then follow the instructions in the above KB. If anything doesn't work out for you, then let me know.

Hi Otis,
thanks for your answer. I can use the DAQCard-700.
But now I`ve the next problem. If I use single scan AI it works fine. If I use multichannel Scan AI or signal curve AI I get the error 10800 (timeout). In the MAX I get also an error if I try to open the test panel (No answer for the first IRQ-Level). In the MAX the serialnumber for the DAQCard 700 ist 0. I already looked for an solution in the forum. I tried to update the driver for the PCMCIA Card-Adapter (RICOH 5C485 one Slot). No success. Then I set in the registry a new key (DisableIsaToPciRouting to Zero, was suggested in one entry in this forum) but no success. I changed the PCI-Slot in my PC (AMD Athlon XP 2800+ and windows XP) with no success.
Do you have any ideas?

Hi rsre,
It sounds like you may be running into some rather common errors. There are quite a few things that could be going on.
I would recommend searching ni.com and seeing what you can find.
There is quite a bit of information on the topic and the best solution is likely already out there.
