Can't install USB 6212 DAQ

I'm Getting the message " Windows could not load the installer for the daq device"

The DAQ was working until I tried to load an older version of lab view on my pc, ver 6I. After installing 6I, I started getting the message above. I uninstalled 6I, and the problem still persists. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling NI DAQ mx 8.6.1 software, as well as reinstalling the Labview 8.5 drivers, and it still does not work.

 

NI Software :  LabVIEW  version 8.5

NI Hardware :  Multifunction DAQ device USB-6212 ;  Driver Version :  not sure, DAQ is about 3 months old.

Hi Plumbob1956,

The older version of LabVIEW should have had no affect on the install of the USB-DAQ device.  Have you tried more than one USB port and possibly another computer?  In addition, if your going through a USB Hub they have been known to cause problems in the past.  Are you having windows automatically attempt to find drivers for the device?  Are you logged in as an administrator on the computer with permissions to add hardware?  If you have a second computer, we could more easily determine if it is a problem with hardware or software.
