Can't install USB 6212 DAQ

I'm Getting the message " Windows could not load the installer for the daq device"

The DAQ was working until I tried to load an older version of lab view on my pc, ver 6I. After installing 6I, I started getting the message above. I uninstalled 6I, and the problem still persists. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling NI DAQ mx 8.6.1 software, as well as reinstalling the Labview 8.5 drivers, and it still does not work.

 

NI Software :  LabVIEW  version 8.5

NI Hardware :  Multifunction DAQ device USB-6212 ;  Driver Version :  not sure, DAQ is about 3 months old.

Paul,

I had to uninstall 8.5 and re-install it to get the DAQ to install again. There were no hardware problems. I'm afraid to install 6I on the same PC again, it takes too much time to remove and reinstall all the software. I'll just use another PC to run Labview 6I, which I will only need to do for a short time. Thanks for the reply,
