Cannot update USB-6009 firmware

I have a USB-6009 that I'm attempting to use with Scientific Linux 7 (x64). I've installed DAQmx Base, but when running lsdaq I get the following:

Device Error: incompatible firmware.  Serial Number: 018461E5

Execute <NI-DAQmx Base directory>/bin/FWUpdate to update.

 Running /usr/local/natinst/nidaqmxbase/bin/FWUpdate fails every time. Is there another way to accomplish the update?

I got it working with a different computer running Scientific Linux 7.5. FWUpdate doesn't work in Windows (10), or from a VMware virtual machine running Linux. VMware loses the USB connection when the USB-6009 switches to its bootloader. Windows won't even recognize the device anymore with FWUpdate.
