I want to control an USB-6259 DAQ using LabVIEW 8.6. However, when attempting to create an express task (using DAQ assistant) to acquire a signal I get the message ¨No supported device found¨. I can see the USB-6259 under ¨Devices and interfaces¨ in MAX, however when I try to import in MAX the configuration data for NI-DAQmx 8.7.2 I get the message ¨Can´t import file configData.nce. File not found¨. I am using NI-DAQmx 8.7.2. Any suggestions?

Hi, Corneliu,
first of all, you should make sure that your DAQ board is working fine. You should use the DAQ Diagnostics utility so as to check it. Here you are the latest version:
http://joule.ni.com/nidu/cds/view/p/id/2244/lang/es
Once it finishes, a text report is generated which informs you if every single component of your device is right.
Try this, please, and keep me updated about this issue so as to define next steps.

Hi Jesús, thanks for answering. I installed DAQ Diagnostic Utility 2.1 as you said and it does not show my USB-6259 in the drop-down menu. I believe it is because the device must be first configured in MAX for the Diagnostic Utility to work. I tried to configure it by selecting the device in MAX (where it appears as USB0::0x3923::0x7348::14284BB::RAW) and then do File/Import and select NI-DAQmx 8.7, and then it gives me the message ¨Can´t import file configData.nce. File not found¨. I´m not sure what else to try. Please let me know if you have any ideas.

Hi, Corneliu,
this issue could be generated due a MAX database corruption. Here you are a link to restore the MAX database.
http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/2C7480E856987FFF862573AE005AB0D9?OpenDocument
Just follow the steps and let me know if it fixes the issue.
Un saludo.

Hi Jesús, I restored the MAX database but it did not improve the situation, I still cannot configure the USB-6259 in MAX (it doesn´t find the configData.nce file) and LabVIEW (using DAQ Assistant) still does not see the USB card.
What if I just re-install MAX and DAQmx, shouldn´t this fix the problem? If re-installing is an option, could you tell me what exactly should I re-install and in what order? (MAX, DAQmx and maybe LabVIEW as well?)
I listed below the NI software that is installed, in case there could be some software conflict (although from what I checked there shouldn´t be a conflict):
LabVIEW 8.6
MAX 5.0.0
DAQmx 8.7.2
Run-time Engine 7.1.1
Thank you in advance,
Corneliu

Hi, Corneliu,
reinstalling maybe an option. Just enter Windows Control Panel >> National Instruments software >> Change/Remove. Once there, uninstall all NI software. Once it finished, restart the computer and install NI software in this order: Programs >> Modules >> Drivers. In your case, the installation order must be: LabVIEW >> NI-DAQmx. MAX is installed with the driver DAQmx.
If this does not fix the issue, just let me know to try other things.
Saludos!
Jesús.

Hi Jesús, thanks for the answer. I managed to make it work in the end by re-installing the NI software. Thank you very much again.
