Counter Input on E Series Boards

Hello,
I am using DAQmx to create a counter input on a PXI-6040E card. When I choose counter input in DAQmx, I get the options to choose ctr0 and ctr1. On the actual board each counter has 2 inputs(gate and source), and one output. Also, in the user manual it says that and PFI pin can be programmed as a counter input. My question is, if I creat an edge counting counter on ctr0 in DAQmx, what pin will it be made on?

Thanks,
Steve

Edge counting would normally use the default SOURCE pin.  The GATE pin would most typically be used for a sample clock signal when you want to perform a buffered acquisition.

ALERT! LabVIEW's subscription-only policy came to an end (finally!). Unfortunately, pricing favors the captured and committed over new adopters -- so tread carefully.
