Version 2.0 of the DAQ Diagnostic Utility is now available.  The DAQ Diagnostic Utility 2.0 now supports the NI 6230, 6232, 6233 and M Series USB devices.

Please note that the DAQ Diagnostic Utility 2.0 is only supported in NI-DAQmx 8.3 and later. If you are using NI-DAQmx 7.5, 8.0 or 8.1, please use Version 1.0

The utility tests the counter, analog input, analog output, and digital I/O systems of supported multifunction DAQ devices to ensure that they function within tolerance.  For a list of supported devices in version 2.0, please see the Readme.

Hi,

A quick question: If a DAQ card passes all the tests using Diagnostic Utility, is it possible that this card could still be a defect card?

Thanks.

Hello J3000,

The DAQ Diagnostic Utility 2.0 is a program written in LabVIEW which uses the NI-DAQmx driver to test different functions of a Multifunction DAQ device. For more information about the specific tests performed by the DAQ Diagnostic Utility 2.0 you should view the DAQ Diagnostic Utility Version 2.0 Readme.

Are there any plans for adding SCXI Chassis and Modules(SCXI-1125) to the tester and is there a utility that will get the serial number of the SCXI modules programmatically?

Thanks,

Earl

Hello Earl,

As of right now there are no plans to expand the DAQ diagnostic utility to support our SCXI modules. As for getting the serial numbers off of SCXI modules programatically, it is not possible. If you use the DAQmx Device Property Node and select Identification»Device Serial Number it will return a value of zero when the active device is an SCXI module.
