The DAQboard 6024E does not show up in MAX.
I used a PCI bus-to-bus bridge to plug the PCMCIA card in the PCIe bus of my Dell laptop running Windows Vista. I installed DAQmx 9.0, which is listed to support the DAQ card 6024E. The bus-to-bus adaptor is visible in the Device Manager, but the DAQ board is not.
Any idea what can be wrong?

Hi Kristien,
You're correct at the software level the installed driver versions support the device, could you let me know which PCI bus-to-bus bridge you're using, and also is it PCMCIA or Express? (You mentioned PCI and PCIe).

Hi Rob,
Thanks for having a look at it. I am using a Cardbus to Expresscard adaptor (Startech CB2EC) to fit the DAQcard (PCMCIA) in my laptop which has a PCI Express slot. Does that clarify what you need to know?

Hi Kristien,
Thanks for sending those details through, that all looks fine in terms of hardware connectivity (although we don't test our devices against such adapters). Do you have a machine where you could test the PCMCIA DAQ card directly to ensure the card itself works fine?

Hi Rob,
I don't have a computer with PCMCIA slot to test the card on without the adaptor. The card is new though (bought a few years ago but never used before).

Hi Kristien,
I've done a check internally and we don't have a list of supported bus-to-bus bridges so as you have the correct drivers installed there is only really 2 reasons why this is failing to work. a) the hardware has a fault or b) the device is not compatible with the bus-to-bus bridge that you're using and therefore DAQmx is unable to install the driver though the driver layer of your bus-to-bus bridge.

Hi Rob,
It was hard to find a laptop with a PCMCIA slot, but finally I could borrow one. The DAQcard works fine, so hardware failure is excluded. The adaptor works fine with other applications, so this should be a compatibility problem indeed. Do you have any idea for an alternative connection so that I would be able to use the DAQcard on my own laptop with the PCIe slot?
Thanks for your help!
