DAQmx base and labview 8.5 full

What’s missing
Labview 8.5 on MacOS10.4.10 installed, works fine
DAQMXbase 2.1.0 Downloaded ; Examples C only, 3 program provided (lsdaq datalogger etc) work fine and recognize USB 6009.

However, No input options in palettes 8.5 or examples to start off with.
So in contrast to Labview 7.1, no daq examples in labview examples directory.
Examples from 7.1 example folder do not work in 8.5.

For those users running LabVIEW 8.2, the appropriate .llb files are attached to this KB for convenience.

May work in 8.2 but in 8.5 NO GO…
16 run errors: SubVI’s missing

None of my apps (VI's) with USB interface dev'd and working fine in 7.1 works in 8.5. Same issues… missing VI’s etc etc

SO bottom line how do I get data input from USB 6009 into Labview 8.5 on mac

Hello Lampje,

Thanks for contacting National Instruments. 

National Instruments has not yet released NI DAQmx Base Support for LabVIEW 8.5.  Until it does release, you should be able to follow the instructions below to use your DAQ device with your MAC.  This process assumes you have moved from LabVIEW 7.1 to 8.5.  Users who are moving from LabVIEW 8.0 or more recent to LabVIEW 8.5, DAQmx Base 2.1 may be used instead of DAQmx Base 2.0. 

1.) Install LabVIEW 7.1 AND LabVIEW 8.5

2.) Install NI-DAQmx Base 2.0 with support for LabVIEW 7.1 (DAQmx Base 2.1 only installs support for LabVIEW 8.2 and 8.0)

3.) Manually copy the following files and directories from the LabVIEW 7.1 directory to the LabVIEW 8.5 directory:

• /examples/daqmxbase
• /vi.lib/_DAQmxBase
• /vi.lib/addons/_LVRLP
• /menus/Categories/Measurement/daqmxbase.mnu
• /menus/Categories/Measurement/_daqmxbase

I wanted to let you know that we have released NI-DAQmx Base 3.1 which provides support for LabVIEW 8.5.  Please let us know if you run into any issues.
