DAQmx vi documentation linux

Is there a documentation file or manual that I've overlooked? I'm looking for documentation on the DAQmx  data acquisition VIs - specifically I would like to pick a VI of interest  - DAQmx Create Channel just as an exampe - and find some more detailed documentation on purpose, signals, etc. than you get with the Context Help. I'm running LabView 8.5 under Linux with NI-DAQmx 8.0.

Thanks,
Chris

Hi jchrisj,

You may have looked at this already, but when you have the context help window open for a particular VI, there is a link to the “Detailed Help” for that VI at the bottom of the window.  This opens up the LabVIEW Help (which can also be accessed by going to Help >> Search the LabVIEW Help) which does provide some more detailed information about the VI.

Another great resource is the DAQmx Help File. I am not sure of its location in the Linux environment, but on Windows XP it is located by going to Start >> Programs >> National Instruments >> NI-DAQ >> NI-DAQmx Help.  The following link shows the available documentation for DAQmx:

NI-DAQmx Installed Documentation

Beyond the documentation there are some great resources for learning about how to effectively program using DAQmx.  Here are some useful links:

Another suggestions is to open the LabVIEW Example Finder (with LabVIEW open go to Help >> Find Examples).  In the Example Finder on the right hand side of the dialog box you can navigate to some great DAQmx examples by going to Hardware Input and Output >> DAQmx and then going to the folder that represents the kind of measurement you want to take.

Hope this helps.
