Does NIDAQ 8.8 Support LabView 8.0

Hello Thomaz,

Thank you for your forum post. Until DAQmx 8.7.1 Labview 8.0 is supported. Also compact DAQ is supported under this driver version. You can find al drivers for compact DAQ by using the following link; http://joule.ni.com/nidu/cds/fn/p/sn/n14:en,n17:hardwareDriver,n23:3478.7056/lang/en

I can recommend to use the 8.7.1 version; please do notice that not all C series modules that are supported now were supported under this driver. You can look this up in the read me file of the driver. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me.

hi

I was trying to use LabView 8.0 with DAQMX 8.8. It works well , but it doesnt have DAQ Assistant which makes job easier.

It has NI Scope and so on which i am not familiar with. Can i have DAQ Assistant in DAQMX 8.8? i was trying to delete DAQMx8.8  and reinstall older version of DAQMX, it has DAQ assistant . But when i drag it onto my block diagram, it appears "Error loading nilvaiu.dll, a dynamic link library initialization routine failed". What can i do to eliminate this problem?

regards

Hello heang,

Keep in mind that DAQmx 8.8 is not supported in LabVIEW 8.0.  If you are using a supported version of LabVIEW, you should have no problems using the DAQ Assistant with DAQmx 8.8.  That being said, how did you go about removing DAQmx 8.8?  You need to go to your Control Panel»Add/Remove Programs»National Instruments Software.  Here you can click on Change/Remove, which will give you access to all NI Software on your machine.  Here you should choose to Uninstall NI-DAQmx 8.8.  Now remove any DAQ hardware from the computer, then install NI-DAQmx 8.7.1 which is supported in LabVIEW 8.0.  Post back if you have issues with this.

Hi,

I have same problem. I have LabView 8.0 and NI 9211 which came with CD for NI-DAQmx 8.8. So if I want to use NI 9211, which version of NI-DAQmx should I use?

With NI-DAQmx 8.8, my DAQ assistant is missing. I used NI-DAQmx 8.5 before and it worked fine but not after I upgrade to NI-DAQmx 8.8.

Thanks

Ingrid

As Rod said, you should use 8.7.1. If you had gone to the link that he provided, you could have read the ReadMe file which lists the supported devices.

Hello Ingrid,

thank you for your post on our webforum. I think the best way to go is to follow this link;under product you can select the right product (in your case compact DAQ or portable DAQ for the carrier), then you select analog input after that you will see the NI 9211. If you select this one you are sure to get all the right drivers; you only have to check (with the included read me) if the driver is compatible with your development environment.

Good luck!
