ENET-9234 or USB-9234 and other questions about the 9234

Hi

I am considering a USB or an ethernet 9234 module to be used as a digitizer in our measurement setup. It should replace the capturing of data we currently perform with a Tek scope (via ethernet or a USB stick). The scope is still needed to look at the shape of my signals and for adjusting the other instruments in my setup but I dont like the resolution (9bit), the accuracy (+-2%) and the number of points (10k) it produces when you finally pull the data from it.

I want to have the 9234 module next to the scope and plug the signal cables from the scope to the 9234 module when I am satisfied with their shape on the scope and need to digitize them. Then I would like to go to the LabView PC (or laptop), press a few buttons and get my data in a file.

The signals have the following specifications:

provided by battery-powered low noise amplifiers (floating and thus GND referenced through the scope or module)

range: 100s of mV

freq: DC to <10kHz

channels: at least 2, should be simultaneously captured and synchronized

no excitations

I have a few questions:

- are the 2 channels simultanelusly sampled in the sense that, for example, the 10th sample of channel 1 is taken at the same time (within jitter etc. specs) as the 10th sample of channel 2? This is ask because I need to make an x-y plot later from the 2-channel data.

- on the PC, I only need to input the sample rate, the number of samples and the number of channels n (mostly, n=2) to be simultaneously digitized and I want a n-column ASCII text file with the n-channel data aligned (comma, tab or space separated - it doesent matter) per sample at the end. Can this be done, with quite modest LabView skills, to work within ~ 1 day?

- what is the magnitude of the protection-diode bias current in the input circuit?

- the ethernet or the USB 9234? Any issues that I should be aware of when choosing between the two?

- the specifications for the accuracy cite "calibrated" and "uncalibrated" conditions. Does the module self-calibrate or do we need to send it to NI for calibration periodically?

-is the ethernet cable or USB cable ground the same as the module ground?

I realize these are very basic questions. Hence, I will be satisfied with simple answers. Thanks!
