Error -225228 occurred at Reset Device

During routine operations of working Labview code (proved out on other machines and chassis) I was experiencing an error that I cannot remember the number of (not the important part of this post) so to make sure the machine with the problems was up to par with the machine not having any problems, I upgraded to some DAQmx (9.4). Install went well, restart the PC and now when I go into MAX and attempt to reset the cDAQ-9188 chassis I get "Error -225228 occurred at Reset Device." with a possible reason of "Internal Software Error occurred in MIO software. Please contact National Instruments Support."

This same PC is connected to a USB 9174 chassis and that connection works just fine, so it seems to be ethernet related. I've tried a restart and ensured the DAQmx version does show the updated version in MAX. I also made sure the firmware on the chassis was up to date. Communication with the chassis is possible, I can log into the web-server side of it just fine and view settings, check firmware, etc. I can see it in MAX, it loads the correct modules, but it will not reset, it will not pass the self test, and when I run my .vi I get the old 'Chassis not found' error message. I can copy that one verbatim, but I think we've all seen that one.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Ian,

Is your cDAQ 9188 connected to a Switch so more than one compuer can access it, or is it connected to a computer using a crossover cable? You can try several troubleshooting steps in Network cDAQ Troubleshooting Resources. Try to press and hold the Reset button of the chassis for about five seconds to reset and test. Also, how long have you had this chassis for? Have you tried to test your chassis on another computer? When you take a module out of the Chassis, will it update and tell you that module is missing? Despite of failing the Self Test, are you able to open a Test Panel and get an expected reading?
