Error oode -200020

I have a tester that utilizes several cards, PCI DIO 96 (3), PCI N6512 (2), a PCI N6704, and a PCI-MIO-16XE-10....while running resistance measurements,

my tester started failing.....I checked my IO cards in the NI&Automation utility and they seemed fine.....I ran the self-test on the MIO card and it failed

with an error code of -200020.   I took all of the cards out of the pc and reinstalled them one by one, starting with the MIO card.  The MIO card passed the

self test.   So I installed the 6704 card it passed too, then the 3 DIO 96 cards.  After installing the 3rd DIO 96 card, I got that same error I got earlier on the PCI-MIO-16XE-10 card, a  -200020.  I would like to know what this error code means....the message is useless "This card failed the self test"....can someone clarify what this errorcode is trying to tell me???

Hello Billb

I apologize for being a bit confused can you tell me your tester's setup? (Operating System, Version of DAQmx Driver) Is the self test only failing on the MIO card? Could you install your cards in another machine and experience the same error? I look forward to hearing from you!

I have tried 3 different MIO cards getting the same error code.   I put the card in another system loaded with cards and it seemed to pass the self test.

I would really like to know what the errorcode relates to (-200020) ...is it a power related error code...I can't find it.  The Operating system is XP, using NIDAQmx, tried 3 different versions the latest being 9.0.2.

Hello billb,

This error relates to how the DAQmx driver is interacting with the card, the fact that you get the card to work in another slot shows that there is an issue with retrieving information. I will speak with our R&D department to try and find more concrete information on the error.

Thanks for the response....just to clarify, moving the card to another slot and having it work is not true....what I did was to take all of the cards out and put the suspect card (MIO) in first....it passed the self check...so I kept adding cards one at a time, when I got to the 5th card, that card got the same error reported as the MIO card did earlier....I thought maybe one of the buss slots was bad, but when the MIO card failed it was in the 7th slot.   What I said earlier also, was I put the suspect card in another pc that was loaded with all of the same cards I use in this system, and the card passed there as well....this process I was going through was to just confirm that it was not the card failing.  I have told the PC vendor that I suspected that there was a power issue....all the cards are recognized by the PC system.....it's only when I try to do the self test using the NI  Measurement & Automation software that I encounter the failure...again as I stated, if I change the order I install the cards,  a different card will fail.  I just saw another message when restarting the computer after installing another card, "applicaton nidevmon.exe failed"......
