Generate a single pulse during less than 625 microseconds on an analog output

Dear all,

I need to generate a single pulse, less than 625 micro seconds, on an analog output. Is it possible ?

To explain in details, I need to generate a signal from 0V to 5V, during less than 625 micro seconds, then back to 0V.

I'm using a NI-PXI 6711 (a 4-channel 12-bit high-speed analog output)

You would say: I could use a counter output to do the job, but I can't for multiple reason... so I need to output this signal on the analog output.

Thanks in advance for your help !

Laurent

I don't see why you can't. The board has a sample rate of 1MS/sec. What have you tried and what language are you using? In LabVIEW, you have the Pulse Pattern function that you can use to define the pulse. Define the timing/sample rate with the AO Generate Waveform.

Hi Dennis,

Here is what I've done so far (in LabVIEW 8.5).

I couldn't find the "Pulse Pattern.vi" because it's not part of the base package...

As you said, it should work, but I was not able to be sure of it, until now ;o) so thanks for your answer !
