Hi Abhay,

What third party software are you using to access the NI USB-6008? There are DAQmx assemblies/dlls that can be used to connect to our DAQ devices other than through LabVIEW. You mentioned that you can see it in the OPC Server and not in the OPC Software. Which OPC Software is this?

I would suggest by downloading the Server Explorer from here and also following the steps provided in the following DeveloperZone Document or the KnowledgeBase. If you are facing any issues do check this too. Hope this helps.

Hi Guys-

Nitin's links actually point to information about the NI-DAQ (i.e. Traditional NI-DAQ) OPC Server.  This will not be useful for use with the USB-6008 as that device is only supported by NI-DAQmx.  Instead, you should check the information in this KnowledgeBase entry.  Specifically, the section about using "NI-DAQmx OPC with a generic OPC client".  You must create global virtual channels in Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX) in order to monitor your device's AI channels remotely via OPC.

Hopefully this helps-
