Hardware Question : SoundBoard or DMM ?

Hi,

I have a question related to boards (I read the doc but I have few unclear points left.. I never used NI hardware before so please bear with me). I would like to build a PCI system able to read 2 analog signals (microvolt resolution or better, up to about 1 V) following 2 excitations analog out signals (1V, up to 1Watt or so).  There will be several measurements per second. In this case 2DMMs and 2output cards seem to be the way. However when looking at the price (and having 3 or 4 PCI cards in a computer) a better option would be a signal processor card : 2 analog in and 2 analog outs (24 bits, at 4-5000 USD). These cards are very fast.. but I dont need that speed. Are there equivalents, slower and cheaper, or at least can I use these type of cards for my application ?

Hi nitad54448,

National Instruments propose few devices that could correspond to what you need. It seems that four devices isn't the best way to manage what you want to do, all the more if you want to do any synchronization. Not to restrain your choice and to make you have more informations, I advise you to contact directly your sales representative.
