How can I eliminate 60Hz noise from the AI Sense

I am currently using the 6211 DAQ from NI on channels 0-7.  I couldn't find this on the list at http://www.palmbeachpost.com/blogs/content/shared-blogs/palmbeach/citypulse/entries/2009/02/09/hear_...

Anyway, Ch4 is picking up 60Hz noise from the AI Sense (which has no chords going to it) with an amplitude of about .2 volts.  Is there anything simple that can be done about this?  Would some kind of a filter be necessary?  If so, is such a code available on this site?  As a mechanical engineer, electronics are not yet my forte, so please try and keep the answer in simple speak as much as possible 🙂

Hi Braden,

I'd start out by looking at the following two articles from ni.com.  They should give you a good start!

Knowledge Base Article: How to Eliminate AC Noise When Measuring DC Signals

Developer Zone Tutorial: Field Wiring and Noise Considerations for Analog Signals
