When I open the TDMS file in Excel I can see there is a "description" header. How do I add a description there? Can I input a description before or as the TDMS file is being written, rather than having to recall the file as a spreadsheet, editing and re-saving it?
"description" is a property of the TDMS file. If you load TDMS in Excel, it's only read-only, you cannot edit and save it back. If you have LabVIEW installed, you can use TDMS Set Property node to update this property.
