How do I create multiple input channels in the DAQ assistant, all of them reading an input voltage ranging from 0 to 9 volts?

I am trying to make a Labview instrument which reads in 10 different voltages. The  voltage coming in is the output of self powered circuits which control sensors for measuring rotation and impact force. Anyways the voltage coming in will range from 0 to 9 volts. I need to set up the DAQ assistant to allow for 10 channels of input. I am using labview 8, an NI-1322 screw terminal, and a NI SCXI-1000 to plug the terminal into.

Hi Stoned 1,

Thanks for your post and I hope your well today.

What trouble are you having?

Can you see the device listed in the Assistant?

Can you add channels?

Can you get data?

Are you getting an error?

So more information of what your finding difficult or where the problem appears will help,

Thanks again

Kind Regards

I guess the problem is a lack of knowledge. I know how to set up the DAQ for one channel, but for more than one I am not sure. I am also unsure where I would connect my instruments wires to. Do more channel outputs appear? The Labview book I purchased was not too informative on more then one channel. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Hi Stoned1,

Welcome to the NI forums!  To select mutiple channels you can shift+click or ctrl+click in the Add Channels to Task window.

When using the DAQ assist, you will still receive a single output for your data (Dynamic Data datatype).  If you connect this into an indicator, all of your channels will display on the graph.  If you needed to do processing on an individual channel, you can use the Select Signals or the Split Signals Express VI.  Both of these can be found in the Express >> Signal Manipulation pallette.
