How do I mass compile my Labview 7.1 folder after installing the 7.1 Maintenance package

I have been using Labview 7.0, but was having trouble with having Matlab scripts fail to launch. I have now installed Labview 7.1 and I have downloaded the Maintenance package that fixes this problem. In the instructions, it says that I have to mass compile my Labview folder. I am unsure how to do this. Do I need to copy my 7.0 VIs into the 7.1 directory, then run this mass compilation? OR Do I run the mass compilation on the 7.0 directory? I appreciate anyone's assistance here. Thanks.

In LabView, to mass compile, go the
tools menu
advance-----mass compile, selct the folder to mass compile.

You probably downloaded the 7.1.1 update to version 7.1. The selected folder in this case should be the LabView 7.1 folder

Hello Squishy,

I would recommend that you run the mass compile on the 7.0 directory. This will update all the VIs to link to the new VI libraries installed by LabVIEW 7.1.

With regards to the instructions from E.Lee...

If I mass compile my 7.0 directory, will all my VIs then only run using Labview 7.1? Or will they be backwards compatible?

Do not mass compile your 7.0 folder unless you want to loose the ability to run programs in 7.0. If you have any user created VIs in your 7.0 folder, copy or move them to the 7.1 folder.
