How do I take pretrigger data with a PCI 6110E card?

I have spent some time trying to get my PCI 6110E to acquire data through a pretrigger and it doesn't work (in Labview). I'm using the standard AI config and AI Start modules. When the pretrigger number is set to zero, the acquisition works (but is post-triggered). Any non-zero pretrigger number appears to cause the card to time-out with no trigger sensed. My guess is that the "start" and "stop" triggers are not being configured properly. I've looked through the NI online examples but so far have not found the solution. Perhaps the PCI 6110E is not configured properly? Perhaps I cannot use the PFI0 input as a stop trigger for a single pre-triggered event?

Hello Ian,

Take a look at the example "Acquire N Scans Digital Trig.vi" The VI documentation explains how the triggers work - the basic idea is that for pretriggered scans you need to use a stop trigger. That means you must also wire to the stop trigger pin of the board. The example explains your options for start and stop triggers.
