How to program the specific microphone in the LabVIEW PDA

hi there

currently i am having problem with programing a recording application in the PDA. the daq card i am using is CF-6004 and using labview pda ver 8.0.1. the recording program in the attachment is working but it is using the PDA internal microphone and not the external microphone. The external microphone is being connected to the CF-6004 card. I tried changing the device number in the program but it is not successful. So is there any way to tell the program which microphone the user wants? Thank you

Hello Student G,

The Sound Input VIs you are using in your program are used to access the built-in microphone through the driver provided by your PDA device's operating system (PocketPC probably).  Those sound input VIs were not designed to directly read data from the CF-6004 data acquisition device.  To read information from the CF-6004, you will need to use the NI-DAQmx Base driver and VIs.

I would also recommend taking a look at the NI-DAQmx Base 2.x Getting Started Guide, especially the section about Creating and Configuring Tasks.  Finally, take a look at the LabVIEW 8.0 example programs installed by the DAQmx Base driver, which can be found under Start > All Programs > National Instruments > NI-DAQmx Base > Examples > LabVIEW 8.0.

I hope this helps,
