How to switch between channels?

Hi,

I have 16 signals to monitor, but my DAQ card can only handle 8 differential channels. I only need to record one set of data every 10 minutes, and all the 16 signals don't have to be recorded at the same time.

Is there any hardware (like a switch box) that I can use to do this? Can I control this switch box in the Labview (not manually flip the switch)?

Thanks.

There are a number of relay boards that will do this (although slowly). It sounds like "slowly" is OK. Look up the ER-8/ ER-16.

Thanks. Is ER-8/16  for digital or analog signals? I have analog signals as input.

Hi,

National Instruments offer a wide variety of switching solutions in the PXI form factor:

https://www.ni.com/en-us/shop/category/switches.html

These include Multiplexer switches that will be perfect for you application. These can also be controlled using the NI-SWITCH driver in LabVIEW.

Alternatively you can purchase an SCXI chassis with an 1100 or 1102 that can increase your DAQ card's channel count upto 32 channels.

Hope this helps!
