How to troubleshoot a Multifunction PCI6221 module

Hi Guys,

This is my 1st Post, I am not much aware of ni Platform. Recently when i interact with one of my customer they are using a NI based machine, application was Testing a car seat by applying a load into that seat and measuring a feedback of Displacement, air pressure and applied load etc...They are using a module PCI-6221 multifunction I/O Module, Here the Issue was not reading the analog Voltage it shows maximum range but when i toggling the Auto/Manual switch it works fine...

I think Digital I/O's working well but Analog Inputs not Working, What to do for this?...

Please Guide me to solve the Issue...

Thanks in Advance,

Santhoshkumar.

Hello dcs-santhosh,

normally on the system the MAX is installed. With this tutorial you can check if the card and driver works. If there is everything ok, then it could be that the programme has lost some setting.

Using Test Panels in Measurement & Automation Explorer for Devices Supported by NI-DAQmx

When the program you are using has an issue, please contact the vendor of it.

best regards

Hi Duffy2007,

Thanks for your feedback,

As Per your guidance, i tested hardware individually using measurement & automation test panel generated an analog output and connected it back to analog input its works fine. when i connected to application PC with external hardware it shows in maximum value(10.6V) but actual input voltage(2.5V). Then what would be the issue as you said the software gets corrupted?

Hello dcs-santhosh,

yes, it could be that is something wrong in the application. You can additionally try to use a DMM and verify the voltage that come in, to see, if the sensor is broken or not.

Hello Duffy2007,

Already i tested all the output voltages of sensor(Load cell, Displacement & Air pressure) to the ni card using DMM, Its all are normal as i mentioned in the previous post 2.5V are from the displacement sensor but it shows in front panel application 10.6V.

Thanks in Advance,

Santhoshkumar.

Hello dcs-santhosh,

if the MAX show the correct value and the application not then the program has a mistake inside. In this case please contact the vendor of the software.

Are the analog input negative (-) terminals connected to the circuitry?

Hello AK2DM,

Ya, all the circuitry are connected correctly. Here am using three analog channels all of them are not working in application front panel but its all works in Measurement & Automation Software.
