How to wire self-powered current transmitter to 9207 analog input?

I am also trying to do a similar thing but in my case I have 2 relative humidity transmiters with a 4-20mA + and a 4-20mA- and they are powered externally. If I connect the 4-20mA + to AI8 do I have just to connect the 4-20mA- to COM?

Any guideline will be appreciated!

Hello suf13,

Yes, that is the correct way to connect the current inputs.

I have attached the drawing depicting how I am planning to wire my Analog Input card.  I am waiting on parts for the panel, so it is not actually wired yet, but this is the method I chose to try.

Hello wishiwasanindian,

It looks like you are using -24V as your common ground.  I would be very cautious of doing this, because the 9207 Maximum working voltage for analog inputs is between +-10.2 V of common ground.  So, this will only be an acceptable common ground if you are expecting to read in voltages between about -34 V and 14 V.

No, my common ground is at earth ground potential.  It is just poor nomenaclature on my part, I labeled 24- as the return path for the 24VDC power supply.  It is not -24V, but the 24 - connection to the power supply.
