Labview 5.1 Digital Buffer Config VI Trouble with 6024E HW

I am trying to do buffered digital IO in Labview 5.1.1 with PCI-6024E Multi-function IO board. When I use the DIO Config VI with a device id of 1 (which is defined in MAX) and Port List consisting of only a value of 0 (I realize that there is only one DIO port on this board and I assume that the port must be 0), the DIO Config VI returns an error code 10403 (Device does not support the requested action). The error is coming from the sub vi Digital Buffer Config inside this VI. Does my board not support buffered DIO. I know it supports buffered Analog IO because I was able to get that working. I have also tried setting group direction and group inputs to appropriate values, but same result. Any ideas ?

The PCI-6024E does not support buffered DIO operations. To accomplish this task, you may want to consider one of National Instruments high-speed DIO devices. Below, I have included a link to the appropriate product page:
