I am running Labview 8.0 on Windows XP SP2. I am acquiring data through a USB6008 DAQmx. Sometimes when I add additonal channels via the DAQ Assistant, the system crashes and a Microsoft error message pops up. It doesn't matter what type of channels or where they are. Once it has crashed once it continues to crash, even after being rebooted.
Also, I don't have admin rights to the computers running Labview, and sometimes when I plug in the USB6008, the system asks me to install the drivers, even though they have been previously installed.
Does anyone know any quick fixes for these faults? I am a student and I am trying to finish a coursework by Christmas.

Hi there,
What is the exact error message are you seeing when this occurs?

Hi,
I hope you are well. I was just wondering how things were coming along with your application and I am just emailing to check if everything went ok and whether the problem was resolved as I have not heard back from you. If you have any further questions on this issue, please feel free to contact us.
Best of luck with your application and thanks for contacting NI!

Hi there,
I am wondering if this issue is down to the DAQmx driver you are using. Do you see any LabVIEW error codes or is that the only error code you see? What I shall recommend is highly based on a couple of other forums, of similar issues,
http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=250&message.id=34725&requireLogin=False

I would recommend a few things to try :
First, attempt to repair all of your NI software. This can be done by going to the Add or Remove Programs screen and clicking the change/remove button next to the National Instruments Software selection. This will bring up a list of all of the installed NI software that is on your computer. Highlight all of this software and choose to repair. During this process the installer will ask for the LabVIEW CDs as well as locations of any installers that were downloaded to your hard drive.
If you are still having trouble running your DAQ assistant, update to the latest version of DAQmx. This will have updates to numerous known issues as well as increase the stability of the DAQmx driver.
Please let me know how you get on.
